Starting this Sunday (27th November), you’ve got 4 chances to head down to Brixton and support this festive black-owned market.
Black Eats LDN are the ‘UK’s first and only Black-owned restaurant directory’. They shout about all of the incredible black-owned eateries in London and support them on their website with a nifty map where you can find your closest spot to grab some food and support black-owned businesses too. And with over 300 places registered on their site, it’s likely there is one a lot nearer than you think.
Now they are bringing their support for small, local and black-owned businesses to Brixton Village’s Market Row. Every Sunday until Christmas (the 27th November and then the 4ht, 11th and 18th December) they will be hosting a craft market. With over 30 stalls selling ‘clothing, sauces, hair & skincare, art, books, toys, home scents, jewellery, fashion and a whole lot more’ this is the spot to get to grips with your festive shopping. From stocking fillers to that special gift, there is going to be something that you’ll want to spend your money on.
And, of course, spending happens a lot easier when you are well oiled. If you want a classic mulled win or would rather spice it up with a rum punch, The Brixton Social will have a pop up bar to supply you with all your drinking needs. Plus, if you don’t fancy yourself as much of a gift wrapper then leave it in the capable hands of Michael Harper, who will be on site with the ribbons and bows. All of this will be soundtracked with a roster of live DJs to help keep that festive cheer sky high.
This is a completely free event too- so why on Earth wouldn’t you go? Book your free ticket via the link below.
