Boudica is announcing itself as ‘a place to meet, a place to celebrate, a place to catch up’. We can get on board with all three of those.
We’re not sure if you’ve noticed, but Battersea is turning into a bit of a foodie destination. With the opening of the Power Station has come the opening of several really impressive restaurants in the area; TOZI, Ploussard, Archway, JOIA… if you’ve got an appetite for good food then SW11 will fix you up with something delicious. Now there’s another restaurant to add to the numbers. This one is Boudica, an all-day dining destination that takes influence from a Celtic background. Opening in April, it is gearing up to serve comfort food with “contemporary and international twists” to Battersea.
The team have said that they are keen to fill the gap in Celtic cuisine in London and, with the capable executive chef Luigi Vairo at the helm, they will bring an innovative menu of deliciously familiar food with exciting twists. A glance at their menu shows inspiration from all kinds of cultures; French, Italian, North African, Middle Eastern, Pan-Asian, Irish and British all get a moment on the menu. Expect dishes like venison ragout and pappardelle, sea bass ceviche with plantain chips, halibut with tempura sardines and burnt fennel puree… Very innovative and very ‘orderable’. The cocktail list is equally as interesting, we’ve already got our eye on the gin-based ‘Woodland Elixir’; green Chartreuse, lime juice, pistachio syrup and basil? The name makes senes.
The space itself sounds as enchanting as the rest of the restaurant’s offering. Boudica will be made up of an indoor restaurant and bar; think lots of live plants, huge windows, marble top surfaces… it’s bold and beautiful in all senses. They’re also boasting an outdoor terrace, perfect to sip a cocktail on whilst you watch the sun go down over the London skyline.
Boudica opens on the 28th April and bookings are already open. Foodies, look sharp!
