It’s that buzz phrase again! ‘Hidden gem’ is back and this time it means business. Claudia’s Beauty Bar really is a tucked away haven off Clapham High Street. If you’re yet to discover it then let us explain- past the overground and into a gated complex is a haven waiting to make you feel your very best. As our nails were in need of some TLC we headed down to see what Claudia’s Beauty Bar is all about.
The space itself is beautiful. Spacious and with bright white walls, the salon felt both luxurious and fresh. Clean, calm and quiet, it was hard to imagine we were just a stones throw away from the bustle of the High Street. We were greeted by owner, Rae, who showed us around the main salon where there is a mani section, pedicure chair and a bar too. There is also a private offshoot room for waxing treatments. Rae explained that she named the salon after her late mum, and what a tribute this space was.
After our little tour we sat down for the most meticulous manicure we’ve ever had. Rae knows what she’s doing and this was no ‘slap-dash’ approach to nails. If you want a proper mani- no bubbles or scuffs and will last much longer than so many of the drop-in ones you could go to, then Claudia’s Beauty Bar is where to go. On top of that, there’s a cracking playlist and you’ll be able to kick back with Rae, who is a wonderful conversationalist and will leave you feeling like you’ve just made a new friend. It wasn’t just the new nails that made us want to come back.
After sipping on a drink from the bar and kicking back at this proper oasis it was hard to leave, as soon as you visit you’ll find the same. The space is open enough for bigger groups to visit together too (Hen do? Big birthdays?) so treat your gang, or just yourself, to some pampering with Rae.
