Head South Hair has had a big refresh and now it’s your turn- pay them a visit to get your hair refreshed in the beautiful new look salon.
Head South Hair and Beauty is at the southern end of the Northcote Road. Though this salon has been in-situ for years (over 30!) it has just had a big rebrand. The refresh has been orchestrated by new owner Émilie who, for four months, has worked to transform the space. It has a fresh new feel and is extremely welcoming. We couldn’t wait to check it out for a hair treatment and blow-dry.
On entry, not only are you met with the new decor (think light, airy and full of green plants), but you’ll also be welcomed by your stylist. We were met by Émilie who took us over to have a quick sit down consultation. This happens at the start of every appointment, no matter if you’re getting a blow-dry or a completely new style- it’s all about making sure that your hairdresser nails the look you are after. From there we were taken to the back where we had a double wash, a treatment put in (because our hair is blonde we got an extra hydrating serum), the most relaxing head massage and a hot towel to really lock in all that goodness into our hair. Then back to the front of the salon to sip on our coffee whilst our hair was styled exactly to our liking. Smooth, sleek locks like we didn’t even know was possible for us?! Thank you Émilie. Pre event, a birthday treat or just ’cause, this was such a relaxing way to spend an hour and we felt fantastic for days afterwards.
During our appointment we asked Émilie a little about her experience in the industry. The women is experienced. She’s been working in hair and beauty for over 17 years, during which she has worked in France during Fashion Week, on the X-Factor and The Voice, plus she has a degree from L’Oréal and was a colour expert at Headmasters where she taught at the academy too. She’s moved all over the world to hone her hairdressing skills and we are lucky that she landed in the UK to bring us SW Londoners better hair. We also spoke about the products that the salon uses and it was really nice to hear how much care and attention Émilie pays to what she uses. It’s always reassuring to hear that the pros are a fan of the products they put in your hair and Émilie has tried, tested and is an avid user of Kérastase and Oway. We can vouch too- our hair feels so much more healthy having had a dose of those products.
