The Icebreaker Challenge is coming to Brockwell Lido! If you are looking for something a bit chilly to start your month then check this out.
The Icebreaker Challenge has been set up by Crisis, a charity who are working to end homelessness. At the coldest part of the year, in a year that has been especially tough financially for us all, their help is in demand more than ever.
To join in with the challenge register for the challenge and rock up to the Lido on the 3rd December. You can enter solo (you’ll swim a width of the pool) or in a group of 4 (where you’ll each tackle a width in a relay-style team). The event starts at 11am, with solo swims starting at midday and the relay swims taking place at 12.15pm.
It costs £15 to enter, with all proceeds going directly to the charity. And hey, you’re taking on quite the ‘plunge’, so why not encourage some sponsorship money too? You’ll be rewarded with a swimming cap on the day… plus a lot of endorphins. There will be prizes for the winning teams and individual as well as a raffle on the day. Now this really is what the festive spirit is all about.
