Introducing The Apollo Arms: your new local pub and dining room is coming to Clapham Old Town this summer.
In the heady heights of summer there’s surely nothing better than a cold pint or a cooling Pimms in a pub garden. And this summer, Clapham is going to have another pub to visit. The Apollo Arms is opening just in time to serve you summer vibes at 13-19 Old Town, taking over the location where the short-lived MEATLiquor used to occupy.
The site has been empty since MEATLiquor moved out in August last year, and since then there have been several whispers of who might be taking the space. Now we know! The Apollo Arms is going to be Clapham’s newest pub, and comes from a family of two other pubs. Sister to The Hunter’s Moon (Chelsea) and Ganymede (Belgravia), The Apollo Arms comes from good stock. Owned by duo Hugh Beatson-Hird and Oliver Marlowe, these pubs are renowned for really good food and really cosy ‘classic pub’ vibes… With some cracking cocktails thrown in for good measure.
Building work starts next week, and though the opening date for The Apollo Arms is TBD, they’re promising us we’ll be drinking pints with them by the start of summer. We can’t wait.
