Hold onto your hats, it’s about to get spicy in Tooting. Rudie’s Jerk Chicken is coming and we are ready for some HEAT.
January is cold and it’s expensive to heat your house. The solution? Eat spicy food. Warmth from the inside out is how we are coping with the winter, and luckily Rudie’s is coming to stop us gnawing on raw chillis.
If you don’t know them yet, let us introduce you to Rudie’s. They are Jamaican food specialists and cook as authentically as you could hope for. They marinade all their meats in a special herb and spice blend for 24 hours before chargrilling slowly over coals in a steel drum. Alongside your meaty mains there are classic sides- mac and cheese, saltish fritters, dumplings, plantain and, of course, rice and peas. They cater for the plant-based amongst us too; cauliflower nuggets, a vegan version of their mac and ‘cheeze’ a stew and even a jerk seitan wrap too. When you go, there should only be one drink on your order: rum punch.
Rudie’s will be opening their next London location in Broadway market on the 10th January, they’ll have some soft launch offers in their first moments too… so keep an eye out for those announcements.
