What to do for NYE in Brixton

It’s no surprise there’s a lot going on for the final night of the year. Here are some of our favourite ways to eat, drink & dance into ’24.

Brixton Village, SW9 8PS

The block party is back! NYE in Brixton Village is always a proper event, where you can rock up (for free!) and enjoy the community spirit of Brixton. There will be a line up of 5 internationally acclaimed DJs, free glitter station, a free camera booth, a limbo competition… It’ll be an absolute stormer of a night.

It’s all things reggaeton at Electric Brixton. See in 2024 with over 1,800 other ravers and 4 of London’s top DJs. In classic Electric style they’re going all out on the extras; “CO2 jets, fire flame throwers, confetti, LED screens, podium dancers…”

Temaki, SW9 8LB

Perfect if you dont fancy doing a Big Night Out but you do fancy, well, doing ‘fancy’. Because Temaki are doing a special set menu that’s full of caviar, sashimi, scallops… It’s going to be really wonderful. They’re going to stay open until 12.30am, so see in the New Year with them and then either head home or for a night cap. Whichever you choose you’ll have a satisfied tum!

Wanna party until 5am? Don’t you worry because Hootananny have got the late license ready and waiting for the early hours of 2024. Their ‘Disco Odyssey’ will be a mash of disco, Motown, funk and soul with live bands and DJs keeping you dancing all night, and morning, long.

Effra Social, SW2 1DF

It might not be sunny in London, but it will be at Effra Social because they are bringing Miami to their 80s extravaganza. Dress up in your floral shirts, grab a piña colada and get ready to groove. Oh, and keep your eyes out for the golden envelopes hidden throughout the venue… We hear there are lots of prizes to be found!

Bottle + Rye, SW9 8LF

For just £60pp you can get an impressive tasting menu at Bottle + Rye. You’ll start with oysters before diving head first into the Thai-inspired menu from chef Paul. Included with your reservation is a glass of English sparkling wine, but if you like your cocktails then we’d recommend making the most of some of the best in Brixton and order a few extra drinks.

Norman Jay MBE will be on the decks at midnight so you’ll be ringing in the New Year with fantastic tunes. This one is taking place upstairs at POW, and it’s going to be the last rooftop party. What a curtain call.

Phonox, SW9 7AY

Previous resident DJ, Moxie, and a special guest will be taking over the sound system on the 31st. Here’s what they’ve said about the event: “An alternative from the the conventional faceless mega club NYE experience, this is truly the stuff Phonox dreams are made of

Canova Hall, SW9 8BQ

Can’t decide whether you want to eat, drink or dance into the New Year? Do all three at Canova Hall! They’ll be running their famous bottomless brunch all day (and night) long. Bag yourself a 7.30pm sitting, grab some of their delicious plates and tack on the bottomless drinks package to your table. You’ll then have your table for the rest of the evening- a perfect base to countdown from!
