From festive wreath making to battles of the bands, there is a lot going on in Balham this October. Check out some of our favourite events.
Create an autumnal wreath
When: 15th Ocotber
Where: Ronny Colbie, SW12 0PH
Because wreaths aren’t just for Christmas! This wreath-making workshop over at florist store Ronny Colbie will be a perfect evening of getting creative and getting into the autumnal spirit. You’ll get to make a seasonal and locally sourced decoration under the masterful eye of Ronny, accompanied with bottomless wine, pumpkin spiced lattes and maple cookies too. Did we just drown in autumn?
Rock out at this battle of the bands
When: 13th October
Where: The Bedford, SW12 9HD
On the 13th October 4 bands are going head to head. They’ll be going all out to win a cash prize of £500, as dictated by the panel of pro judges. But they’ll also have the opportunity to win a prize of £100 for the audiences vote… that’s where you come in. Votes are £1 a pop and all money raised for the evening will go towards the Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. A fun night and you’ll be helping families with free accommodation close to where their children are in hospital, enabling families to stay together when it is most needed.
Get mindful
When: Every Monday from the 10th October
Where: Balham Library, SW12 8QY
Join a mindfulness circle at the library where you can switch off from your day and start your week in the most serene way. Opt for zen for your October.
