Right December, let’s be having you. There’s loads of festive things to get up to this month… the tough thing is choosing which to do!
See a woman walk into a bank…
When: Until 9th December
Where: Theatre 503, SW11 3BW
Set in Moscow, 2018, this satirical show is all about a country in crisis. Join an old woman (and her cat) as she takes out a loan at a bank… and the unravelling series of events that follow.
Get crafty
When: Until 22nd December
Where: Battersea Power Station, SW11 8DD
The Power Station is hosting a series of festive workshops and they’re bound to keep you busier than Santa’s elves. From bauble decorating to cracker making, there’ll be something for everyone. We wrote about it here, so check that out for the full schedule.
Get hot (and sweaty) in the cold
When: 2nd December
Where: Electric Boulevard, SW11 8BJ
Start the 1st weekend in December with a bracing 5km run around the park hosted by Peloton. Suitable for any level of runner, this guided run is free to attend (just register first!) and will get you a t-shirt and post run refreshment for taking part… plus a side of smug too.
Buy some unique Christmas gifts
When: 2nd & 3rd December
Where: Battersea Power Station, SW11 8DD
Salad Days are bringing the biggest pop-up Christmas market to Turbine Hall A for a 2 day shopping extravaganza. You’ll find over 60 stalls to browse from, all of which are independent businesses. There’ll certainly be something for under your tree.
Celebrate this 11th anniversary
When: 6th December
Where: Battersea Arts Centre, SW11 5TN
Jam Sandwich has been putting on gigs across London for 11 years! To mark the occasion they are putting on an evening of music, talk and community. The evening will be raising money for The Listening Place, a charity that offers support to those experiencing suicidal thoughts. The whole night will be hosted by Jam Sandwich founder, Louise Wellby, and showcase a line up of 9 artists.
Watch a Christmas movie
When: 18th-23rd December
Where: Battersea Arts Centre, SW11 5TN
Get good ‘n proper into the festive spirit by heading down to the Luna Cinema that is popping up in BAC this December. There’s loads of films to pick from; Love Actually, Elf, Frozen… Grab the popcorn and snuggle down.
Go to a cabaret with a difference
When: 19th December
Where: The Clapham Grand, SW11 1TT
…Because this is a riot cabaret. For one night, pro-wrestling is coming to the Clapham Grand for some ‘hard-hitting’ entertainment. There’ll be a proper show waiting for you, so maybe do something a bit different for this year’s Christmas gathering.
Get your skates on
When: All month
Where: Battersea Power Station, SW11 8DD
Battersea, it’s time to get your skates on and slide on over to the Power Station because Glide is officially open! Aside from the rink itself there is a lot going on at Glide. Private hire igloos, fairground rides, quiz nights hosted by the Good Time Gals every Tuesday, food and drinks at The Glass House and loads of other entertainment over the 8 weeks they’re open.
