What to do in Clapham this DECEMBER

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And with all of these events going on in Clapham, it really IS the most wonderful time.

Sing some carols for a good cause

When: 11th December

Where: Clapham Common Bandstand

In aid of The Royal Trinity Hospice, the Friends of Clapham Common are hosting an afternoon of carols. Between 3-4.30pm there will be buckets of merriment, mice pies and mulled wine, all in the hope of raising more money for a fantastic, local cause.


Shout ‘it’s behind you’ at the The Two Brewers annual Panto

When: 7th-9th, 14th-16th and 21st-22nd December

Where: The Two Brewers, SW4 7UJ

‘The Wizard of Poz: Defying Bigotry’ is this years Panto over at The Two Brewers. Presented by The Cabaret Geek it is going to be filthy-mouthed, big hearted and a heck of a lot of fun… All whilst unpacking myths surrounding HIV in the 21st century.


Make your own wreath

When: Until the 12th December

Where: Flheure pop up, The Polygon, SW4 0JG

Get extra festive at these floral workshops. Tuck into a glass of mulled wine whilst you add pine cones, ribbons and dried flowers to your own wreath. Unique, homemade and you’ll have a lovely time in the process.


Shop ‘till you drop at this festive shopping night

Where: RVH Home, SW8 3HT

RVH Home are hosting an evening of festive shopping where, from 6pm to 9pm, you’ll be able to pick up all you need for December; decorations, luxury gifts and gorgeous bits for your home too. Oh, and there will be a glass of fizz and festive nibbles to keep you in the jolly mood.


Hear a reading of a Christmas Carol

Where: The Bread and Roses, SW4 6DZ

Get spooky just before Christmas and head to The Bread and Roses where there will be a reading of the classic Dickens novel. It will be a little chilling, it will be very good and it will certainly get you in the mood to hunker down with a mulled wine.


Enter your pooch into a Christmas jumper competition

Where: The Windmill, SW4 9DE

It’s pub dog Max’s dog Christmas jumper competition! Back for its 7th year, rock up on the day with your festive pup to be in with the chance to win. All proceeds will go to Battersea Cats and Dogs Home. Every pooch will trot away with a prize, with extra special awards for the podium!


Sing-a-long to some carols on the Common

When: 4th December

Where: Holy Trinity Church, SW4 0QZ

From 4.30pm rock up outside the Holy Trinity Church in Clapham and warm up with some mulled wine and a bite to eat from one of the food trucks that are pitching up for the evening. The carols will begin at 5pm. But don’t worry, they’ll only be going on for 85 mins, meaning you’ll have plenty of time to get to the pub for the football kick off.


Browse Venn Street festive markets

When: Every Saturday until Christmas eve

Where: Venn Street, SW4 0AT

Venn Street Market is always a failsafe way to spend a Saturday in Clapham. Meandering through the stalls this December will be a bit different though. You’ll probably have some live music serenading you whilst you browse, and you’ll probably have a cup of warming mulled wine in hand too. Pick up a Christmas tree, pick up some organic wine and even a few stocking filler gifts too. There’s a lot for you you get your mittened hands on here.
