Where to celebrate Burns Night in Tooting

Are you celebrating Robbie Burns this January? If you are, here are 4 spots in Tooting to raise a dram in.

A traditional Burns Night will be taking place at The Selkirk. They’ll have poetry galore: There will be a reading of the Immortal Memory, the Selkirk prayer and obviously that address to the haggis too. There will be whiskey by the dram and haggis to keep you going whilst you truly get in to the Scottish spirit.

For just £32.50, you can get your hands on a delicious, Scottish-themed set menu at Richard’s Kitchen. On Wednesday 25th January they’re putting on a full three course meal with canapés and whiskey included in the price. The food is Scotland through and through; black pudding and whiskey croquettes, smoked salmon on soda bread, Cullen skink soup, haggis, neeps and tatties and for desert you can choose between a tradition Cranachan or a deep-fried chocolate bar. You’ll come out full of the Scottish spirit, and, well, just full.

Rick’s is known for its 3-4-10 meals, where you’ll find 3 courses of delicious, hearty food costs you just a tenner. It’s unfussy, comforting goodness that you’ll be craving again and again. Their Burns Night celebrations will follow a similar template; classic haggis, neeps and tatties will fill your plate. If you’ve not tried out this iconic Tooting location, then here is your moment.

There’s a strong emphasis on whiskey for this evening at The Trafalgar Arms, so if whiskey is your thing, then this is where to head. They’ll also be cooking up some Scottish flavours in the kitchen to keep that stomach lined!
